Grunter at nearly 18 months old

Grunter is a dark coloured young bull, born 7th May 2008 to Dixie. Dixie wasn’t quite ready for motherhood so we had to step in and hand-rear Grunter, who has now grown up to be rather cheeky and sometimes a bit over-friendly!

Both Grunter (far side) and Hippo were hand-reared in 2008, here being fed by Emily in the autumn.

Like most of his family Grunter is very dark in colouration, especially in his short, sleek summer coat.
