Here Hippo is enjoying the fresh snow in her thick winter coat!

We hand-reared Hippo in 2008 after she was orphaned at just a few days old. She is therefore extremely tame and friendly, making a big impression on most of our visitors!

Hippo as a yearling outgrew most of her year due to her enormous appetite and grew a great set of antlers!

Normally we don’t name the reindeer until they are a few months old, but Hippo’s nickname as a much younger calf stuck - she was always ‘hungry as a hippo’!
