Get a herder’s insight into our wonderful reindeer herd!

The Paddocks is usually a self-guided experience, but at certain times throughout the year there will be a herder available to share their knowledge of the reindeer as a species and as individuals, giving you a much more in-depth experience.

The Paddocks are perfect for children and for visitors who are unable to go on the Hill Trip. They are wheelchair and pushchair accessible, and as well as being able to see the reindeer, there is lots of information about every aspect of reindeer and quizzes for children. This is the perfect alternative for those who can’t take part in our Hill Trips due to the weather or difficult terrain, offering a personal introduction to the reindeer in the more sheltered conditions in the glen.

Please note that whilst you will get a close up view of 3 – 6 reindeer here, there is no direct contact with them and no opportunity to feed them.

Our Seasonal Herder Talks in the Paddocks will run every afternoon from 11th – 26th February 2023 (tickets available from 30 days ahead). If you’re visiting in the morning, you can still see our lovely reindeer via our self-guided Paddocks option – click here to read more.
